The Robofest is a Global Robotics Competition organized by Lawrence Technological University at Southfield, Michigan, United States States of America.
The Robofest World Competition it is essentially a festival robotics competitions since through the categories it has the opportunity to participate in all ages, while at the same time encouraging young and old students to engage in the Sciences, the Engineering, Mathematics, Technology and Programming .
The Competition allows children to participate with any robotic package they wish, as well as to program in any language they want . This is Robofest supports the learning of the science of robotics for all.
Since 1999 , more than 28,000 students have participated in the competition. Every year they participate teams from 15 different states of the United States, but also from Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, England, France, Ghana, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Kenya, Lebanon, Macau, Malawi, Malawi, Malawi , Nigeria, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan etc.
2020 ROBOFEST is organized for the first time in Greece by the Robotic & Science Academy on 11 and 12 April 2020, in Crete.
CO-ORGANIZATION:
Venue: Indoor gym of Miron .
The teams will qualify from the E-national contest of Greece participate in the grand final, at the World Robofest Championship in Michigan , USA.
AGE CATEGORIES:
The groups are divided into three age categories:
JUNIOR: 9 to 13 years old
SENIOR: 14 to 18 years
COLLEGE : Students
Each group is composed from 2 to 5 children and can take part in as many categories as he wishes.
In parallel with the competitions during the two days, a variety of robotics seminars are held for children and adults. The program of the seminars will be announced 10 days before the event.
COMPETITION CATEGORIES:
Groups of up to 5 children 10 to 18 have been competing to build and program an autonomous robot that will compete in the annual Robofest theme.
The issue for 2020 is "GolfBowl" . See the rules >>
Groups of up to 5 children 10 to 17 year olds compete in an unknown robotic mission which is announced on the day of the competition. The aim of the challenge is to develop skills and solve problems without the help of the coach.
Groups of up to 5 children 9 to 14 years old compete with fully autonomous robots in a ........ robotic parade !!!.
The theme for 2020 is : "Precious Life Below Water and Water Resources: Our Lakes, Rivers, and Seas"
Groups up to 3 children 9 to 17 year olds compete on a track with the aim of getting off it the opponent or a bottle !!! The winner is whoever is left on the track alone ... with the bottle or alone ... with the opponent for 3 seconds !!!
Groups up to 5 children 10 to 18 years and students create and program (bio) medical robotic Appliances using intelligent and interactive robotics. This competition also promotes entrepreneurship. The robots must have computer components programmed by the participants and employ sensors and / or actuators.
Groups up to 5 children 10 to 17 years create with absolute freedom their own smart, autonomous, robotic projects. Any material can be used. Wireless handling is prohibited.
